What are Whatnot Meetups?

A Whatnot Meetup is a seller-hosted event where community members get together face-to-face to network with others who really get what they do. Meetups are where advice flows, ideas spark, and community magic happens. These events bring your online community into the real world—no screen required.

Whether you've been selling for years or just wrapped your first show, these in-person gatherings are all about bringing our amazing seller community together to connect, swap stories, share tips, and grow. The best part? Sellers walk away feeling more informed and inspired than ever.

What different types of meetups do we offer?

Seller Meetups are grassroots events led by sellers who want to connect on their own terms, in their own cities. Got an idea and a place to meet? We’ll back you with tools, guidance, and promotional support to make it happen. It’s your meetup, your way. Some seller meetups are eligible for Whatnot Sponsorship, which come with added hands-on planning and resources from our team. Sponsored events will be labeled as such in our event hub.

Category Meetups have a similar vibe to the events listed above but are organized for specific categories.

Who can attend?

If you're an active Whatnot seller in good standing*, you're in! Sometimes sellers can bring a +1, too—just check the event details when you RSVP.

*We want every meetup to be a positive experience for everyone, so we do reserve the right to revoke an RSVP in certain cases—like if there’s been past poor behavior at an event, a serious violation on your account, or if our Attendee Code of Conduct isn’t accepted and followed. We rely on you to make this a safe, respectful space for all.

HOSTING 101

Why host a meetup?

Hosting a Meetup isn’t just fun—it’s meaningful. Here’s what you get out of it:

• Build community: Meet fellow sellers, make new friends, and grow your network.

• Learn & share: Whether you’re a vet or just starting out, everyone has something valuable to bring to the table.

• Level up together: Collaborate, inspire, and walk away with fresh ideas to take back to your shows.

• Lead with heart: Bring your local seller scene together and become a go-to voice in the Whatnot world.

Hosting Qualifications

To keep things running smoothly, here’s what we’re looking for:

• Active Whatnot seller for 3+ months (6+ months if you’re applying for a Sponsored Meetup*)

• At least an 80% On-Time Shipment Rate

• At least a 95% Fulfillment Success Rate

• No recent serious violations or bans, and a track record of respectful behavior at past events

• Must agree to and follow our Attendee Code of Conduct

If your application is approved, our Community Team has your back. We’ll set up a custom RSVP page for your event, share helpful tips to make your meetup a success, and provide ready-to-go graphics so you can promote with ease. We also will vet your RSVP list to ensure each guest is in good standing on the platform.
